Service and Maintenance
Regular service and maintenance keeps your system efficient, reliable and safe.
Sussex Heat Pumps Ltd provides specialist servicing across Sussex for swimming pool heat pumps, domestic and light-commercial heat pumps, air conditioning systems, dehumidifiers and air-handling units.
Whether you need a one-off service or an ongoing maintenance plan, we help reduce breakdowns, control running costs and extend equipment life.
Why regular servicing matters
- Maintain efficiency and keep energy costs under control
- Identify wear or faults early before they become expensive breakdowns
- Extend the life of key components (compressors, fans, pumps, controls)
- Support manufacturer warranty requirements
- Keep refrigerant systems compliant with F-Gas obligations where required

Systems we service
- Swimming pool heat pumps
- Domestic air-source and ground-source heat pumps
- Light-commercial heat pump systems
- Air conditioning systems
- Indoor pool dehumidifiers and AHUs (air-handling units)

What’s included in a typical service
- Visual inspection of units, pipework, insulation and surrounding area
- Electrical checks, terminal/security checks and basic safety checks
- Filter, coil and airflow checks/cleaning where applicable
- Pressure/temperature/performance readings and control verification
- Drain/condensate checks where relevant
- Review of setpoints, timings and operating strategy
- F-Gas leak checks when required

Service intervals and planning
Higher-use or critical applications may need more frequent visits (for example busy indoor pools, commercial sites, or systems running for long periods daily).
- One-off annual services
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits
- Split seasonal visits where appropriate (e.g. pre-season + mid/late season checks)
F-Gas leak checks (where applicable)
Leak-check frequency is based on refrigerant charge in CO₂ equivalent (CO₂-eq):
- Below 5 tonnes CO₂-eq: no mandatory interval
- 5 to <50 tonnes CO₂-eq: at least every 12 months
- 50 to <500 tonnes CO₂-eq: at least every 6 months
- 500+ tonnes CO₂-eq: at least every 3 months (plus fixed leak detection requirement)

Swimming pool system servicing expertise
A significant part of our work is servicing swimming pool heat pumps and associated dehumidification equipment. Pool environments are often harsher than standard domestic applications, so early detection of corrosion, airflow restrictions and control issues is especially important.
Our pool-focused experience means we can often spot developing issues before they become major failures.

Areas we cover
We’re based in Seaford on the East Sussex coast and cover most of East and West Sussex for heat pump, swimming pool, air conditioning and dehumidifier work.
Our core service area runs along the coast from around Hastings across to Chichester, and inland across the South Downs and surrounding towns and villages.
